Job Purpose

The Cash Application Analyst is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely completion of cash application activities and maintaining cash application records for the company. This includes matching payments to the appropriate remittance information, as well as tracking cash receipts and aging reports. The role requires a solid understanding of relevant regulations and internal financial controls to perform these activities effectively.

The Cash Application Analyst will report directly to the Global O2C Cash Manager and will work closely with the wider team to ensure accurate and timely delivery of accounts receivable (AR) activities.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

 
  • Accurately apply customer payments to customer invoices.
  • Process payments across multiple currencies and business divisions.
  • Maintain, investigate, and report on unapplied cash balances.
  • Support the collections team by offsetting aged cash and resolving discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with the billings team to resolve delayed invoices that impact accurate allocation.
  • Monitor the shared cash team mailbox daily and ensure all incoming queries are addressed promptly.
  • Proactively escalate issues or delays affecting cash application to the O2C Cash Manager.
  • Follow the company’s AR and revenue policies when applying cash, ensuring full compliance in all postings.
  • Complete all cash‑related tasks accurately before and during month‑end close.
  • Build strong working relationships and collaborate with other shared services teams to share information and support process improvements related to cash application.
     

Skills & Experience

 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Cash Application operations.
  • Strong proficiency in English.
  • Strong MS Excel skills with the ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
  • Basic knowledge of core finance systems, ERP platforms, and related functional frameworks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to apply concepts, methods, and terminology associated with generally accepted accounting practices to new or unfamiliar situations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with a commitment to providing high‑quality service while managing expectations effectively.
  • Ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment with a proactive approach, meeting tight deadlines while maintaining work quality.

Beneficial to Have

  • Experience with Great Plains, D365, or QuickBooks.
  • Ability to communicate in languages other than English.
  • Qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other business‑related disciplines.
