Principal Business Solutions Lead

We are seeking a strategic, visionary, and values-driven Business Solutions Lead (Technology) to help shape and champion the future of our technology landscape. This is a critical role that sits at the intersection of business and technology, with a clear mandate to align digital solutions with our long-term strategic goals and operational priorities.

As a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, you will lead the design and delivery of innovative, scalable and sustainable technology solutions from the earliest stages of project inception. You will be responsible for driving transformation across a diverse portfolio of initiatives exceeding £20 million, ensuring that every solution reflects our commitment to customer-centricity, operational excellence, and technological innovation.

This role demands an individual who thrives in a collaborative environment, values transparency and integrity, and is passionate about continuous improvement. You will foster strong cross-functional relationships, champion agile ways of working, and create a culture where experimentation and learning are encouraged. Key Responsibilities

Lead Business Solution Design & Assurance

• Analyze complex business problems and recommend solutions.
• Oversee solution design and assurance across major technology programs, ensuring alignment with business and technology strategies
• Collaborate with Transformation Architects to ensure investments support strategic goals.

Drive Innovation & Strategic Initiatives

• Identify and deliver technology-enabled opportunities to optimize costs, grow revenue, and mitigate risks.
• Develop strategic artefacts such as capability models, roadmaps, and customer journeys.

Guide Agile Teams

• Lead, mentor, and develop teams of Business and Senior Business Analysts to deliver continuous business value.
• Guide agile teams through solution delivery, ensuring outcomes are aligned with business objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership

• Engage with senior stakeholders, providing expert advice and influencing decision-making.
• Build strong relationships across business units to ensure unified standards and governance practices.

Strategic Analysis & Continuous Improvement

• Analyze business problems, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive continuous operational enhancements.
• Monitor and evaluate project progress, adjusting strategies as necessary.

Skills & Experience

• Experience of Business Architecture, Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture or Business Partnering.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Deep understanding of business architecture frameworks and artefacts.
• Strategic and analytical mindset with a focus on delivering outcomes.
• Proven ability to navigate complex organisations and drive change.
• Experience working in agile environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise-level transformation programmes.
