Job Purpose

The Search Consultant plays a critical role in the IP Research business, managing the lifecycle of search studies and acting as a primary point of contact for clients. This role is responsible for defining the scope of client requests, delivering high-quality patent research services, and ensuring that all interactions align with client expectations.

Job Overview

Key Deliverables

 

  • Collaborate with clients to define the scope of requests and tailor services to their specific needs.
  • Efficiently handle all client queries, complaints, and troubleshooting to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Manage and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of client reports.
  • Conduct quality checks to confirm deliverables meet client expectations.
  • Oversee the last stage of review before delivery, completing all necessary admin checks.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for ongoing client interactions, ensuring clear communication and responsive follow-up.
  • Facilitate a smooth onboarding process for new clients to integrate them into our services.
  • Provide support after report delivery, managing any revisions or follow-up queries.
  • Collect client feedback and collaborate with the Operations team to refine services and improve client satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Work with stakeholders to fully understand client requirements and develop appropriate deliverables.
  • Manage client communications and address feedback, queries, and complaints promptly.
  • Oversee and allocate requests to the appropriate search team or section based on client needs.
  • Demonstrate AOP Connect to clients, collecting feedback to improve platform functionality.
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams, including sales and account management, to maintain operational standards and ensure high-quality service.

 

Skills & Experience

 

  • A degree in science or engineering.
  • Strong experience in patent searches, with the ability to:
    • Develop effective search strategies.
    • Review patent and non-patent literature.
    • Present technical findings in clear and concise formats.
  • In-depth understanding of analyst-led patent search processes, philosophy, and mindset.
  • Familiarity with all patent research services, including patentability, novelty, landscape, invalidity, and FTO studies.
  • Working knowledge of AOP Connect from operational and client perspectives.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams, including senior analysts and Crowd Study Managers.
  • Strong presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • Ensuring precision and quality in all deliverables.
  • Experience or willingness to assist with Crowd Studies as part of professional development.
